7 Year old lab mix looking for a good home

Just a little over a month ago, our 7 year old dog bit our 3 year old son and now we need to place our dog in another home. While I thought she had some latent aggression issues when she was a puppy, I conferred with a leading behaviorist who believes that the real culprit at the time was rawhide; it brings out the animalistic behavior in them and should be avoided at all times. Needless to say, we lived with Gisele without any issues. Then a month ago, my son stepped on her and she bit him. This was a first and due to my son not feeling comfortable around her, we think the best option is to re-home her. She really is a sweet affectionate dog who loves nothing more than putting her head in your lap, fetching a ball and getting petted. We think the best family for her would be one without children. We do have another dog and a cat so she is able to live harmoniously with other animals without incident, though I think she would prefer to be the only pet. She is housebroken and understands basic commands: sit, stay, etc. She has never chewed furniture or shoes. We've had her since the incident which is now 4 weeks, but it is extremely hard on everyone, especially for her and my son. As you can imagine, it is extremely difficult keeping her separated from my son in a NYC apt. I have received many people offering advice or thinking I'm over-reacting. Please keep in mind that this also involves a 3 year old boy who has had 9 stitches in his face. When I discussed the situation with the top behaviorist at the Humane Society, he quickly understood our need to get Gisele out of our home and didn't recommend us hiring a behaviorist or trainer. My vet has recommended a drug treatment for the dog; again, it doesn't take into account the lasting mental effect this has had on my son. I had previously written that if we cannot find a suitable home for her, we would put her down. I'd rather do that than drop her off at a shelter where her days will be traumatized and numbered. Someone thought that this made her seem worthless and after I took it out, someone responded that I should put her down humanely. In other words, I've gotten lots of advice but I will be heeding that from my correspondent at the Humane Society and the Mayor's Alliance. While I do appreciate your good wishes and intentions, this has been an extremely difficult and heartbreaking time for the family. If you can help us find a home for Gisele, please let me know. I'm not selling her for a price but I needed to put a price in there in order to get his ad run. I could not add a picture due to file size issues, but would be glad to email you a photo if you're interested. Thanks for your time.
